The Books
A Word from Rayne

An ordinary life. I think that’s the three words that best sum up my
life. I was born into a middle-class home to parents that give Ozzie
and Harriet a run for their money.

I did all the ordinary things. Graduated. Got a job. Got married. Got
divorced. Found love again. I like working in my garden, bowling,
biking and NASCAR. I have one dog. The cats belong to him.

An ordinary life.

At least it was until January 2003. My beloved was watching sports
on television and I was bored. I was beyond bored, to tell the truth.
So I sat down at my computer and started to put into words a story
about a world that was in my head.  

When it was finished, several weeks later, I took a deep breath and
handed it to him and asked him to read it. He stayed up until 3:00
AM reading it and romance novels are not his cup of tea. Then he
challenged me to keep writing and to sell the story.

I pray for everyone to have that one special person who will
challenge you and stand with you when you accept the challenge.

In December of 2003, I’d completed the manuscript, The Skies of
Mahdis.   At the urging of another author, I submitted it to an           
e-publisher, Wings Press, Inc.  It was accepted. Two months later,  
to the day, I signed a second contract  and I was on my way.
I was surprised and shocked, too, but that’s another story.

And suddenly my life doesn’t seem so ordinary.
Follow your dreams to wherever they may take you.  
It’s worth the trip.
